Poor Chief feels abandoned this morning since Hayes went for a run without him. Admittedly, jogging with Chief is a bit like a pinball game. He suddenly lurches in the direction of any squirrel, chipmunk, or yummy looking bird. It adds a whole different element of exercise to a workout. So, he was left at home to catch up on some beauty sleep.
Only he took it very personally.
Standing at the curve of our driveway, staring off in the distance hoping for the slightest glimpse of Hayes. Barking incessantly since 5:30 am. After repeated threats from me, he finally quieted down about ten minutes ago. He was waiting on point for Hayes to appear when a couple with two large dogs approached on a morning walk. Chief wanted nothing to do with them, so he retreated back down the driveway until they were safely past our house. Alas, Hayes just returned and Chief is a happy camper, although somewhat resentful. Nothing a bowl full of food can't fix.
My "kids" and their peccadilloes. Have I mentioned how relieved I am that my own childhood quirks are not documented for the world to know?
Must get the boys moving so we can have Noshville before Peter takes the soccer field by storm. A boy needs his energy, you know.
