weekend at the lake

We spent this past weekend at the lake with Reenie and Boopah. After Friday's storms, the clouds disappeared and we had a beautiful weekend in the water. All of us. Davis put up a fight in the water on Friday afternoon, but after 30 minutes he was warming up to it. Then it began raining. Saturday and Sunday, he spent the whole time in his float throwing balls and playing with an empty beer bottle. Have I mentioned he loves Corona bottles? Don't even try giving him Bud Light, people.

Peter was a fish. A very sweet, cuddly, polite, excited fish. He practiced his swimming skills a good bit but mostly we just floated and kicked and splashed and jumped to our hearts' content. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful retreat at our disposal. It's already such a special place for Peter, and Davis is seeing for the first time now how awesome a place it is to be a kid.
